Yes, its the curse of the self-service checkout. Sometimes they can be brilliant - other times they can really slow you down, cant they?! But new figures out today suggest around 4 in 10 of us (in the UK) opt for self-service when given a choice. And nearly all of us now use them. Self-service checkouts were introduced more than a decade ago - and now some shoppers would like to see them in other types of shops as well - like department stores.
