Do you agree with the statement that revolutions may result in a change of political power, but often the lives of a majority of people stay about the same. This is because even though people are content after overthrowing some party they dislike, the only benefit of it is that they only overthrew the party they disliked. There is no advantage or similar to that after rebelling against a government. The novel “Animal Farm”, written by George Orwell, is a perfect example in these situations. After Jones is overthrown, the animals are content and excited; however, their lives go back to normality after several days of the revolution, they work as much as they worked for Jones. This is because of the divided sections the animals were classified by. Most of the animals were classified as “Lower Class” animals and still worked as much as they worked for Jones. This is a clear demonstration of the benefit one gets after rebelling against something, nothing. This statement is not true in all situations, but in these situations, it is true. Animals stay as animals and work for their good. Do you agree that, this is a very clever statement, which can be showed in the real world and also in the book “Animal Farm”. For example in the elections for the president of the United States in 2008 Barak Obama (got elected) promised to fix the economy, to reduce the percentage of unemployment, etc. Some time ago when he was trying to get re-elected, a lot of people said: “Why should we vote for you if you didn’t do what you promised during your presidency and our lives stayed in the same bad condition?” Is a true statement, which shows that even though there was a change in the political power in a country, your life may stay in the same condition. In the book Animal Farm, after the rebellion took place and Napoleon went to power there was an only one animal that just didn’t care about all of this mess. The donkey said that no matter what changes occur in this farm, their life will always stay the same and the conditions wont improve. This strongly supports the statement of “Revolution may result in a change of political power, but often the lives of a majority of people stay about the same”, because the animals made a revolution where they threw out their previous leader, and Snowball and Napoleon took his place but some animals feel nothing really changed.
