Do you and your family like to get outdoors and go for a hike? Learn more about the rare Serpentine Barrens ecosystem located nearby in the Nottingham County Park. An interactive and informative workshop will help you learn what makes the barrens unique, why they are threatened, and what you can do to help. Hosted jointly by the Oxford Public Library and the Friends of the State Line Serpentine Barrens, a non-profit, grassroots organization of dedicated volunteers who support the State Line Serpentine Barrens through preservation, maintenance of the serpentine grasslands, and education about this globally rare resource.
