.....Do you build round reclaimed wood tables? Is a question I get a couple times a week. Up til now I have had to say Yes, but we havent built one. So the past few days I built one. Problem solved! This is a 5 diameter round top, 1 5/8 thick on the top. Wood used for the top is a mix of hardwoods salvaged from barn wood. Elm, Ash, Hickory, and Sycamore. Some of the boards even show horizontal saw marks showing that they have been sawn from barn beams. There is lots of character, old worm holes, checks, knots, cracks and knots. All natural character. The base is a pedestal style with a simple arc sawn on all 4 sides of the center post. The center post is a 7x7 hand hewn timber and it is white oak. You can still see some of the hand hewn markings. I used a dark walnut stain and the whole table has 3 coats of Varathane polyurethane in a matte finish. So, what do ya think of my round table? Oh, I forgot to mention, this one is available for sale, ready to deliver! PM me for more information if you are interested.
