Do you buy earrings to complement the shape of your face? Next time you go shopping for a pair, try using these suggestions to match earring type to your face type. Humans have basically 5 types of face shapes: round, oval, square, inverted triangle, and oblong. Which one are you? For those of us with round faces, the goal is to create the illusion of a longer face. Drop earrings accomplish this and they are very trendy right now. Long and skinny earrings are the key. See some in fine silver in my Etsy shop. Lucky you if your face is oval. Almost any style earring flatters your face. From dangles to hoops to classic pearl, you can wear them all. I have some great mixed metal disc earrings that would look fabulous on you. If your face is square, gravitate toward very feminine earrings to soften your jaw line. Pick something that falls right at your chin line but stay away from well defined geometric shapes. These will just exaggerate the square shape of your face. My infinity earrings would fit the bill perfectly. Those of you that have an inverted triangle shape (you have that wide, intelligent forehead and a smaller, narrow chin) are among the lucky few who look great in chandelier earrings. Their wideth will balance out your triangle. And last but not least is the oblong face: narrow and long.
