Do you ever have a week that no matter how hard you try to be - TopicsExpress

Do you ever have a week that no matter how hard you try to be pleasant, it never works? Well - as you suspected, it is the week I am having. Monday was pretty good, but yesterday I decided to go ahead, be brave and so check with Bills social security. By the time I gathered the papers and summons the nerve to go - it was 3 pm. I hoped by 3pm it might not be too busy. That worked - the place was not busy - in fact it was so not busy that it was closed. It closed at 3 pm. {who would expect that? Not me.} So this morning I picked up my nerve, ready to fight my own tears when I think about Bills death, I found an alternative road to get there, so I didnt have to travel on the freeway with my mind on government problems with social security. I arrived safely, found a place to park about half a block from that office. I arrived there at 12:25pm, pulled on the door handle and found it is locked! ______Guess what? Or do you already know why it was locked? The Social Security offices are close at noon on Wednesday. {ARGH!!!!} What a fiasco. Why in the world would Social Security close at noon on Wednesday? WEDNESDAY? What is the whoopie-doo reason for THAT??? There *must* be a logical reason, but that reason is blocked from my clouded mind today. Bill passed away last June 6, after the funeral services were over, I was left to faced the problems of notifying all the businesses such as his life insurances, his credit cards, his doctors, because everything had to be paid etc. I recall I notified Social Security in August, and the month or so I notified other businesses. I first visited Social Security in August, they assured me all is well, and Id receive notification within ten days. Nothing happened. In October I visit Social Security again - there was no record of my visit in August, except that I was there - all the copies of Bills papers were gone, including his death certificate. It was very traumatic to go through the same thing - again. But I managed not to fall apart and cry about it until I got home. I really expected everything was taken care of, because they apologized a lot, and gain the assured me Id receive the papers in about ten days. However..........{sigh} Have you already figured out that Im still waiting for that l-o-n-g-e-s-t ten days - TWICE - in my history. I have a strong hunch that Bills papers have been lost again, because the cowards known as the *Men In Black* are trying to let me know that they are in charge. But I already know they are in charge, so I wish they would at least let me move forward with life and allow Bills Social Security get started. It has been almost a year, you would think they could their business in order and actually do something the right way, and start the REAL ten days!
