Do you find there are specific narrators you particularly like? If so, note that you can search by narrator in the BARD “search the collection” search box. BARD will then list all of the books with that narrator. Bob Askey, for example, is a popular, award-winning narrator. If you do a search for Bob Askey, all 374 of the books he has narrated will be listed. Bob is well known for his dramatic readings of books by John Grisham and James Herriot. Try combining his name with either Grisham or Herriot. For example, enter herriot askey. This combination of terms will list all of the James Herriot books narrated by Bob Askey. Other award-winning narrators on BARD, among many others, include Martha Harmon Pardee (975 books); Erik Sandvold (568 books); Mark Ashby (385 books); Robert Sams (338 books) Catherine Byers (282 books); and Steven Carpenter (261 books). Some narrators specialize in particular subjects. Yolande Bavan narrates books about the Middle East and South Asia. Martha Harmon Pardee narrates suspense and mystery fiction. Erik Sandvold narrates a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction topics. NLS also wrote a short web page about narrators. See the link below.
