Do you get enough fiber in your diet to maintain proper colon - TopicsExpress

Do you get enough fiber in your diet to maintain proper colon health? For ideal health, you should consume at least 35 grams of fiber each day. A good diet that includes fruits, vegetables, seeds and grains would be ideal but with busy lifestyles, that isnt always realistic. A diet low in fiber can lead to a build up of undigested food in the colon and intestines which will become toxic. If you suffer from constant gas, bloating or halitosis, chances are you already have a build up of toxins. Without fiber, these food particles ferment and putrefy in the colon and cause the issues mentioned above. These toxins eventually end up in your bloodstream and cause health issues. Fiber is needed to help manage blood sugar levels, it can help lower blood pressure, therefore helping to protect against heart disease and stroke, it can decrease the risk of colon, pancreatic and stomach cancers, it can help prevent digestive disorders, help with weight loss, it helps to eliminate foreign substances from the body, such as heavy metals and candida especially if you are on a cleanse and finally it will help keep your colon healthy. If you only consume 1 meal a day, you should have 1-2 bowel movements a day. If you eat the average 3 meals, than I highly recommend more fiber in your diet, especially if you are only having 1 bowel movement.
