Do you get to know your neighbors? Our little neighborhood is very close. Everyone knows each other, looks out for one another and takes care of one another. When we first moved to Dewey, Ok. I didnt know a literal soul in the state. I got to know my neighbors and at every opportunity would visit with them. Mrs. Naomi Reeder was my favorite because we shared a kindred spirit. We both love Jesus and we both loved to laugh and sing (and she was home during the day when the others were at work). There are many more qualities that I admire, but Mrs Reeder always showed the love of Christ wherever she was or with whomever she was speaking. I will never regret reaching out to her at the mailboxes our first week in this house. This morning mrs. Reeder moved to a new house, probably a mansion. She is now the new kid on the block; but the difference is that she knows some of her neighbors! Neighbors shes not seen in years... jealous!!! Yesterday, the kids and I went over to see her one last time before WE moved, but it turned out to be one last time before she moved. I am sad but am comforted in the knowledge that we will see her again when God calls us all home. I am excited to be her neighbor again and to catch up on all of our tales! I could go on and on about Mrs. Reeder, like how she looked after us when Don had his stroke, how she loved on our kids like they were her own grands, how she taught Ashley how to make Turkey and noodles, how she invited us to Thanksgiving dinner when I was having a I miss my family meltdown and many more stories... a ♡ of Jesus to be sure. She leaves behind a family (some are also our neighbors) who will carry the tradition on. Whomever moves into our home will receive the same love and friendship through them. What a great housewarming gift!! We will miss you, Naomi and we love you all beyond words: Lorene Reeder Shoultz, Jon Reeder, Brandy Coyle, Jim Shoultz, Cassie Shoultz, Phillip Shoultz, Jared Shoultz, and the rest of the Reeder family. In closing, I challenge you, my readers, to get to know your neighbors. You never know the blessing you might be to them or they to you.
