Do you have an older home and tape on your duct work that looks like this? Know what it is? Its Asbestos tape and it is considered friable material. There are two kinds of asbestos friable and non-friable friable if disturbed can become airborne and you can breath it in, non friable like floor tile only becomes a hazard and friable if drilled into and dust is created. Do not disturb this tape, you can encapsulate it by spray painting the tape. It should be removed by a professional asbestos abatement company.
