Do you know about FAST, the signs of stroke???? Fortunately for me my Bonnie immediately recognized signs of stroke when she found me lying on the floor. I had all the F.A.S.T indicators she said. Bonnie called 911 and within very few minutes Arlington Fire Department and AMR ambulance EMS crews were working to get me to a hospital where, with Bonnies permission, I was given tPA to dissolve the blood clotting causing the stroke in my brain. I am very lucky to survive the stroke with minimal affect, I have no paralysis, my speech is normal for me and I have no lingering hurts i.e. headache nor limb numbness, my eyesight is the same as before and I never could smile straight. All of which had a chance to be something different if stroke treatment were not hurriedly administered.... I am so very thankful Bonnie recognized and knew what to do for me in those minutes, I am thankful to her actions for my life. I have no recall of the stroke event and very little of the at-first help I received but I am quite cognizant of the attention to me during that time.... I am alive!
