Do you know how many shark species there are? You will be surprised! Over 400 species of sharks live all over the world, more specifically in areas such as the Galapagos, Mesoamerican Reef, Coral Triangle, Gulf of California, and Coastal East Africa. Some of the main species of sharks include the Great White, Hammerhead, Tiger, Nurse, Sand, Caribbean Reef, Whale, Bull, Mako, Blue, and Lemon sharks. To help protect shark populations, the United States has supported proposals that provide broad mandates for stronger conservation of sharks and has worked with the Coalition Against Wildlife Trafficking in order to raise awareness of the importance of shark conservation and to improve enforcement capacity. #SharkWeek
