Do you love smoothies but dont have a blender at hand in work? Who does really so here is the perfect solution by Chris Osborne from Henry Happened. Make batches of smoothies on a Sunday or Monday evening and freeze them for the week. I wash and keep all my almond butter jars and label them with days of the week. The trick is not to use ingredients that go off or turn brown quickly. Take them to work each morning and they will thaw out in time for your mid morning break. Keep you blood sugar stable and lose weight too! Ingredients: 3 cups fresh, roughly chopped pineapple 8 cups spinach ½ cup sun warrier protein powder (amazon ) ½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut ¼ cup chia seeds 4 cups unsweetened coconut water 1.5 cups unsweetened almond or coconut milk Instructions: 1. Layer the ingredients in a blender in the order listed (pineapple, spinach, protein powder, coconut, chia seeds, and liquids (coconut water and almond milk). NB:This will help with proper blending. You may need to do this in 2 or 3 batches, depending on the size of your blender. 2. Blend until smooth and then taste. If the smoothie is too sweet, consider adding in more spinach and Almond milk, if not sweet enough add koko milk. 3. Blend again until smooth. If you don’t have a strong blender and you have pieces in your mixture, you may want to strain it. 4. Pour into 5 jars, leaving a little space at the top so it doesn’t expand and pop the lid in the freezer. 5. Put the lids on and store in the freezer for when you’re ready to use. It’s best to give the smoothie a few hours at room temperature to thaw or overnight in the fridge. Enjoy!!
