Do you want to help fostering urban food security? IUFN is looking for online volunteers! Background information IUFN (International Urban Food Network) is an international research and cooperation network on sustainable urban food governance. Launched in 2011, it aims at strengthening the cooperation between local authorities and the research community. It is based in Paris (AgroParisTech university), but its membership is open to organizations from any industrialized and emerging countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China). IUFN campaigns for: The creation of a sustainable food system that guarantees the food security of urban areas. The integration of the food issue into urban and territorial planning. The renewal of the urban food governance. In 2012, IUFN organized its first international conference on urban food governance. Hungry City, Feeding the City of Tomorrow, gathered more than 200 people in Paris. Proceedings can be found here: eng.iufn.org/?page_id=427 Tasks IUFN is currently redeveloping its website to make it the first interactive web platform on urban food governance, where actors from all over the world will be able share thoughts and work together towards fostering urban food security. The resource center will be a key component of IUFN’s web-based interactive platform. It will allow members to access publications on urban food security, and learn about events and new policy developments. We are looking for online volunteers to help us: Monitor information (articles, reports, events…) on urban food governance in the United States of America and / or Canada. Input the information into the resource center. Number of volunteers needed: up to 5 Region or Country: United States of America / Canada Languages: English Hours per week: 4-8 Duration in weeks: 52 Requirements If you are interested in undertaking this task, please submit a CV, and clearly outline how your previous experience will be an asset to the assignment at [email protected] (please title your email “IUFN Volunteer”).
