Do you want to help me help these kids from Uganda to get a better education and life through dance and art?: https://youtube/watch?v=Mw8gO-ro6Zs&spfreload=10 If yes, read on: Three months ago I discovered “The Ghetto Kids”, or Triplets Club, from Kampala, Uganda. They became an international sensation with millions of views on Youtube. The playful energy they perspire touched me in such a way, that I felt I had to meet this group of amazing little artists and the man behind them - Kavuma Dauda. Here’s BBC news coverage: youtube/watch?v=fXJEYJM1lQ4 Their success didn’t come easy. Kavuma became orphan at the age of 10 and hit the streets then. But thankfully someone spotted his talent and helped him through, and he became a mathematics teacher. He also wanted other kids in difficult situations to get a positive life, and started this project. It is a collective to help poor children get creative through dance and music, and raise money to pay their school fees. By releasing songs and making professional videos, these kids saw their lives go from begging to attending school and help their parents pay for housing and food. Improving the life of kids is both hugely touching and inspiring for me. So I wanted to contribute to this transforming project by exchanging my experience in dancing and show my appreciation in person. I used my savings and booked my way to Kampala, where I will meet the collective on the 25th of December. I also asked what could I bring to support the kids. Kavuma replied: a Camera for shooting the videos as well as filming what kids do on different occasion and a Laptop for processing. These things are almost not possible to afford here”. The trip itself already took a dent in my pocket, so it’s hard for me to finance Kavuma’s help plead on my own. ***Therefore, I’d like to invite you to help me help these young little dancers. If you find this a worthy project, then you can also help in the following ways:*** - First, share this post with your friends - Give a laptop or camera no older than 3 years, that you own but don’t need anymore (if you are unsure if your material is useful, send the specifications and Ill have it checked out) - Contribute whatever money you can to help fund the purchase of the equipment they need. Assuming I’m unable to get any equipment donations, my goal is to collect 1200 Eur. before December 21, 2014, in order to buy a reasonable camera + laptop. I will take everything I can from here to help support these amazing kids and project. Just contact me and let me know how you’d like to contribute. I’ll also share what I’ll be taking and will make sure I’ll share in Facebook photos of Kavuma and the kids with their new stuff. Thanks for your help in making a difference for these kids’ life! Love, Winde
