Doctor Who 30 Day Challenge Day 22: Favorite Friendship Classic Who: The Doctor and Jamie (Ace may be the best companion, hands down, but Jamie deserves to be a close second, IMO, if only because he remains the only companion to really treat the Doctor as someone on his level. You always got the feeling that he saw the Doctor as a friend first and a protector/superior second, which is something that a good 90% of companions never seemed to. ...but, if I were to give that same description of another companion, it would be...) New Who: The Doctor and Donna (I already listed Donna as my favorite New Who companion, and I stand by that, and that status is owed not only to Catherine Tate just being really, but also to how she felt like the first companion in New Who to not be intimidated by or lovestruck with the Doctor to the point of not being able to recognize his faults and call him out on them when need be.)
