Doctor Who: Protect and Survive: Protect and Survive is an audio story featuring the Seventh Doctor, Ace and Hex. Written by Jonathan Morris, released in July 2012 and the first in the 2012 Seventh Doctor trilogy. Protect and Survive is a Doctor-lite story with the Doctor appearing substantially in Part 3 and briefly in Parts 2 and 4. Ace and Hex soon find themselves alone without the Doctor as they meet up with an elderly couple just when there is a verge of a nuclear attack. Eventually it becomes clear that not everything is it seems with the last two episodes being the standout of the story. The third episode has the Doctor on his own without Ace and Hex as it provides a clearer picture of what is going on while the last episode is truly well handled on the way that Ace and Hex got presented here. Pretty good on Ace and Hex passing that final test and leading to that cliffhanger.
