Doctor Who: The Companion Chronicles: Frostfire: Frostfire is the first story of Doctor Who: Companion Chronicles. Written by Marc Platt it was released in January 2007. Prior to the Companion Chronicles, Big Finish were only able to produce stories with the available Doctors, Doctors 5 to 8, as the first three Doctors are deceased while Fourth Doctor Tom Baker will finally be persuaded to step into the Big Finish fold some years later. So the idea of The Companion Chronicles is for stories be told from the perspective of companions hence its name and therefore was ideal to tell stories featuring Doctors unavailable to Big Finish. The Companion Chronicles starts off with Frostfire featuring Maureen O’Brien as Vicki several years after she parted ways with the Doctor and Steven in The Myth Makers as she tells a creature The Cinder about one of her adventures with the Doctor and Steven. What ensues is an interesting adventure that took place in London 1814, a meeting with Jane Austen and a menacing dragon. A very good story to begin The Companion Chronicles.
