Documentary Report for the Situation of Palestinian Refugees in Syria #Action_Group_for_Palestinians_of_Syria Sunday, 4th of January 2015, No.793 “Shelling and Clashes at the Yarmouk Camp amid Fears of Starvation to Death” • Two Palestinian Syrians Died Yesterday. • Dangerous Living Crises at Daraa Camp South of Syria. • Bombing at Al Tiba Town Adjacent to Khan Dannon Camp in Damascus Suburb. • Syrian Security Forces Arrest Two Refugees from Damascus Suburb. • Al Nairab Camp Residents Commemorate the Anniversary of Prophet Mohammed Al Mawlid Al Nabawy. #Victims The AGPS received news about the death of the young man Mohammed Al Nabhani from #Daraa_Camp due to torture in the Syrian regime prisons, while the AGPS couldn’t make sure of this news from another source. Meanwhile, the young man Saeid Mohammed Salih died while trying to reach Nordic, as his corpse was found frozen in a forest while he was trying to reach #Greece, as his five-years daughter was with him during this trip and his father died while he was hugging her and trying to protect her of the severe cold in this forest. #Recent_Updates Bombing and sporadic clashes targeted different places of the #Yarmouk_camp in #Damascus with a number of shells, while the clashes broke out between the regular army forces alongside with the Palestinian groups loyal to it and groups affiliated to the Syrian opposition. Meanwhile, the continuous strict siege, imposed by the regular army and some Palestinian factions loyal to it for 547 days respectively, which coincided with the suspension of entering urgent aids by the #UNRWA and some organizations for about a month, has led to increasing the possibilities of starvation to death, especially after the water cuts for 117 days. The water cuts resulted in the spread of many kidney and skin diseases, as the AGPS documented the names of 158 refugees who died due to starvation and lack of medical services. In the same context, the remain residents of #Daraa_camp are living in a real suffering coincided with a campaign of continuous bombing and artillery shells, while they deprived of water for 264 days due to the siege imposed by the Syrian regular army, as they had to use wells water after buying it from reservoirs, which led to the spread of skin and digestive diseases because of water pollution. Moreover, the power cut for long periods that increased to reach 20 hours per day, and sometimes for consecutive days, in addition to the complete suspension of wireless and landline phones for more than a year. The prices of fuel have increased rapidly after the blackmail of merchant and regular army checkpoints and their control of its prices, since the gas cylinder price has exceed 51$, if it was found, and also the of the ton of heating firewood has reached almost 189$ under the scarcity of fuel oil and gasoline. All this comes in light of the absence of the public facilities and the relief and services teams work, which led to the severe spread of rodents mice- rats in most of the abandoned and damaged houses, in addition to the suspension of UNRWA works in the camp and especially the medical centers for the second year respectively after being bombed. It is mentioned that majority of the residents had to fled the camp due to the bombing and the tragic living condition. Meanwhile, bombing targeted Al Tiba town adjacent to #Khan_Dannon_camp in Damascus suburb, as the explosion sounds were heard clearly, while a state of tension prevailed the camp for fear of bombing and clashes. The camp is suffering of difficult living conditions, especially as it receives hundreds of displaced families who fled their camps due to bombing and clashes. In Damascus suburb, the Syrian security forces arrested each of, Mahmoud Ibrahem AL Hamid, two days ago by the members of Kawkab city checkpoint, as Khalil Salih Shakoush was also arrested a week ago from house at Jadeidat Artouz. It is noted that 6 residents from #Khan_ALSheih_camp were arrested by a checkpoint of the Syrian security. In #Aleppo, the residents of #AlNairab_camp commemorated the anniversary of the prophet Mohammed Al MAwlid AL NAbawy at Shohadaa AL Aqsa mosque, while AL Nairab camp is controlled by the Syrian regular army, as many clashes broke out at its vicinity, lately, between the regular army and groups affiliated to the armed opposition. The #Palestinian_Camps in #Syria, Numbers and Statistics till 3/1/2015 • At least 27933 Palestinian Syrian refugees have reached Europe during the last 4 years. • 2596 Palestinian refugees were documented by the AGPS including 157 women, 283 were killed due to torture, 268 were killed by sniper shot, 84 refugees were field executed, and 984 refugees were killed due to bombing. • The Yarmouk Camp: - Siege, imposed by the Regular Army and PFGC, continued for 547 days respectively. In addition, power cuts continued for more than 627 days, water was cut for 117 days respectively. The number of victims due to the siege has reached 158 victims. • 80,000 Palestinian Syrian refugees escaped from Syria to the neighboring towns, including 14348 refugees in Jordan, 42,000 in Lebanon, according to UNRWA statistics till November 2014. • Al Husayneyya Camp: - Regular Army is still preventing the residents of the camp to return back to their houses for 449days respectively. • Al Sbeina Camp: - Regular Army is still preventing the residents of the camp to return back to their houses for 419days respectively. • Handarat Camp: - Residents have left the camp for 620 days after the Syrian Opposition Groups controlled it. • Dara’a Camp: - It is now almost 264 days without water and 70% of its buildings were demolished. • Jermana, AL Saieda ZAinab, Al Raml, Al Aedein Ca mps in Homs and Hamma: - A relatively quiet situation in light of the economic crises. • Khan Al Sheih Camp: - Roads linking the camp to the city center are still closed except for Zakia- Khan Al Sheih road.
