Does a pastor need a flock, or need to oversee a congregation to be called a pastor? Is a shepherd called a herd keeper without his sheep? What about a facebook ministry? Closed, secret, or whatever type it is, a group that has a ministrys name, does that make you a pastor over that group? What say ye?! The word pastor appears 9 times in the KJV bible. 8 of those instances are in Jeremiah and only one in the New Testament in Ephesians 4:11. Looking at the instances in Jeremiah they mostly have to do with shepherding, feeding the flock, keeping the flock, etc. You can also see they werent highly esteemed in Jeremiah, but they were warned of what was coming to them as a punishment (they were not faithful shepherds).
