Does anyone have any good crate games we can play or any tips? Were having trouble with our 9 month old border collie pup at the moment. Hell happily sleep in his crate at night (though we dont shut him in it or force him to) but if we ask him to go in his crate he refuses. We stopped using his (metal) crate for a while as he hated it and he outgrew it, when we left him in his crate he barked constantly (could hear him barking from outside the house) but was usually calm and quiet when we got back ...so we got him a new soft crate that looks different and is a bit more covered/enclosed and have been feeding him in his new crate, giving him some really good treats in there and doing some games with it but he just wont go in if we ask him to and he wont go in it during the day if we put food or a snack in there, yet at night hell happily eat his bedtime treat in it. He has bad separation anxiety so we really need him to love his crate, i think he just associates going in the crate during the day with us leaving him? He does have access to his crate during the day but chooses the sofa, bed or even the floor over sleeping in his crate. Any tips to encourage him to even just take a step into his crate during the day would be great! :)
