Elwak town was today a beehive of activities as Governor Ali Roba spent more than 6 hours in Elwak youth empowerment centre meeting the locals in groups. The meeting with the council of elders, religious leaders and women was climaxed by a youth meeting that took almost 2 hours to finish. Given the opportunity to air out all their grievances, the youth representatives did not waste the golden opportunity. Identity cards crisis was at the top of the agenda.Governor Ali Roba noted the issue With concern and assured the youth that in consultation with the national government they will resume the exercise soon. Responding to unemployment concern by the youth, Governor Ali Roba challenged them to appreciate the more 1000 youths employed so far adding that the process is a continuous one. The county government has a program to sponsor students with a C and above to nursing and teaching courses to bridge the gap in the two fields. The Governor is on a routined one week NEED ASSESSMENT visit.
