Does anyone know what can cause carbon monoxide, OTHER THAN gas or fault with stove? We have been dealing with mysteriously raised levels for weeks. Its always accompanied by a plasticky smell, except for once it always happens in the morning when nothing is on (were still in bed, no fire going), and weve had both a gas safe engineer and an electrician (as I thought cables might be smouldering) who didnt find a cause. Its not daily either, and by noon the levels back to 0. Can boat batteries be to blame? (Levels always highest near the stern) We have two alarms so its not that the alarm is faulty. Theyre the kind that show levels, and this morning it was in the 60s. Im so tired of waking to this alarm, not knowing what to do, and worrying about my 2 month old :-( Any ideas?
