Does anyone remember the pool hall in Haileybury on the corner of Broadway and Ferguson and who owned it? It was early 70s and my first experience with that evil sport that my mom warned me about. Pool then later snooker became one of my favourite pastimes. Sure, like anywhere, the billiard halls of the Tri-Towns attracted some unsavory sorts but if you minded your Ps and Qs it was a fun and safe place to hang out. I believe it was later sold to the Johnsons and moved to the corner of Browning and Ferguson. I played many a games there as well as a few in the infamous peephole pool hall in New Liskeard. Did Cobalt have a hall? Sadly the last one, Limos in Haileybury has had its doors closed for a few years now. I taught my sons how to play there. A bit before my playing time but was there one on the block across from the old Gibsons hardware store on Ferguson? Hughes rings a bell.
