Does being poor in spirit means to be economically destitute? I believe being poor in spirit is an attitude of the heart, of the reborn spirit towards our Father God, in which one is totally given to Him, completely surrendered, totally desperate and completely dependent upon Him. Naturally speaking, The Lord wants even those that are economically well off, rich or middle class, to also be poor in spirit and to understand that everyone is in a total need of Him. For thus says the high and lofty One, He who inhabits eternity, Whose Name is Holy, I dwell in the High and holy place, but with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite one Isaiah 57:15
