Does doing everything without grumbling or complaining seem like an impossible goal? It certainly isnt something that comes easily, and simply containing my grumbling to the inner recesses of my heart isnt an option either. The King James Version translates this verse with the words “murmuring” and “disputing.” Even what we secretly mumble under our breath falls under the scrutiny of God. Only through disciplined self-control and a heart controlled by the Holy Spirit can we attain to this godly standard.
