Does function and behavior follow changes in form? Or is it form, or structure, that follows changes in function and behavior? An organism can only perform a function (and thereby develop patterns of behavior) within the limitations of its anatomical structure. On the other hand, repeated use (or lack of use) of an anatomical structure can bring changes in an organisms form over a period of time. Evolution is a very slow process and it is important to keep in mind that populations, not individuals, evolve.
