Does the RNC deserve the blame for Cucinellis loss to McCauliff in - TopicsExpress

Does the RNC deserve the blame for Cucinellis loss to McCauliff in Virgina? The blame? Probably not. Losing an election or winning is ultimately the responsibility of any given candidate. Did they help AT ALL? No. They spent $3 million in Virginia, but not on the candidate. They spent on infrastructure for next years midterm election. They spent $0 on television ads. Cucinelli raised $20 million which was $1 million less than the prior Republican candidate for governor of Virginia when the RNC spent $9 million ON THE CANDIDATE. Would Cucinelli have won if they had spent money on him? I dont know, but it definitely wouldnt have hurt. The real question is whether or not the RNC can now blame the Tea Party and Cucinellis loose association and acceptance of the Tea Party for the loss. It is ridiculous to say that is why he lost. He lost by less than 1%…that is pretty much one of those couldve gone either way elections. I believe the RNC and Progressive/Establishment Republicans WANTED Cucinelli to lose and had their talking points about the loss already prepared to blame the Tea Party. Unfortunately for them those points dont match the actual tight race that resulted…in reality. They look foolish and petty. The Republican Party is in trouble. The Big Government I know whats best for you Progressive Republicans are lashing out and trying to undermine their fellow Conservative Limited Government Tea Party Republicans. Big tents only go one way. The Democrats a cackling and rubbing their hands together gleefully. nationalreview/campaign-spot/363241/does-rnc-deserve-blame-cuccinellis-loss-jim-geraghty
