Dog Name: Pandora and Prime Suspected Breed(s): Pit bulls Gender: Female and Male (sister and brother) Age: 1 year old Weight: Personality:Super friendly and affectionate. Very sweet and loving. Observations with Dogs: Good with other dogs Observations with Cats: Ignored cats when tested at the shelter Observations with Kids: Not yet tested House Training Progress: Unknown Crate Training Progress: Unknown Location: Need foster Rescued From: Smyth County, VA Additional Information: These sweet dogs were surrendered to a high-kill shelter because their owner could no longer afford to feed them. They seem very bonded to each other, so not only did they face a huge challenge of being a bully breed and an owner-surrender in a high-kill shelter where many pit bulls never make it out alive, they seem to really want to stay together. Finding a rescue that would take them together seemed nearly impossible. When we learned of their plight and saw how incredibly sweet and friendly they were, we knew we had to give them a chance to find a wonderful home together. If you are interested in meeting a dog, we require an adoption application. Visit citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt.html to apply. If a dog has HAS APPLICATION listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. If a dog has NEEDS FOSTER listed, they are still available for adoption. Information about our current dogs in need of fosters can be found here: citydogsrescuedc.org/current-dogs-in-need-of-a-foster.html and the application to foster is here: citydogsrescuedc.org/foster.html. City Dogs Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Prior to arrival, all of our dogs are spayed/neutered (unless specified) and given shots for Rabies, Distemper DHPP, and Bordatella. They are tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia. They are dewormed at least twice and given a health check by the vet. Most dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken or crate trained. Our adoption fee is $350 (including puppies) unless noted -- senior dogs are available for an adoption fee of $175.
