Dog dumped in bin in Sherwood How could they! Dog dumped in bin. A Miniature Fox Terrier is fighting for his life after being found dumped in a metal bin at a children’s playground area at Strickland Terrace in Sherwood. The dog, who has been called Gyber by RSPCA veterinary staff, was discovered by a contract rubbish collector on Tuesday morning. The contractor took him to Sherwood veterinary surgery who then called the RSPCA. “The bin is a tall sheer metal container with a low roof, so there is no way he could have got into the bin himself and he had no way of ever escaping. Someone dumped him there,” said RSPCA Qld Inspector Penny Flaherty who is investigating the incident. “We don’t know how long he was in there as the rubbish is only collected once a week.” Gyber is an entire male, approximately 3 years old and is in good body condition. He has black and tan markings with a white stripe down the centre of his face. He did have a bad flea infestation and was very dirty. He currently has localised paralysis and was vomiting on arrival at the RSPCA. He has had X- rays and is now on a fluid drip. Anyone who has any information about the incident or who may know the owner of the dog is urged to call the RSPCA on 1300 ANIMAL.
