Dom Hemingway doesnt really have time for plot. Its too in love - TopicsExpress

Dom Hemingway doesnt really have time for plot. Its too in love with its charismatic chaotic main character and his verbose monologues to really worry about story but it does at least give the character an arc (as it should). That being said Jude Law is a bit too in love with playing the character and a bit too self aware with his whole look I gained 30 pounds and escaped the constraints of my prissy nature thing so its not as enjoyable as if say Ray Winstone or Brendan Gleeson did it. The movie is funny at times though and thats mostly due to a classic Richard E. Grant performance as Hemingways one handed buddy. Grant unloads on each line hes given but its his great physical acting thats really his trump card. This is probably the best hes been since How to Get Ahead in Advertising (or for some Hudson Hawk). Emilia Clarke doesnt get much to do besides look different then she does on Game of Thrones (Khaleesi sings in a Senegalese band!) so thats really more of a whatever. The movie is just enough on the right side of entertaining...
