Don and I started out on a very rocky foundation. We were young and had made some choices outside of Gods plan for our lives. About 5 years into our marriage we were really struggling to hold things together. We decided to take the weekend apart to decide on what we wanted to do with our lives and our marriage. If any of you know either of us at all then you know that neither of us know how to fail at anything and we decided to make it work. We decided we were not going to break the bond and commitment that we had made to our God and to our family. It wasnt and easy choice at all, and it was something that we consciously chose to do. We both chose to love each other even though the feeling of love wasnt really there anymore (to be honest I dont know if it ever really was there to start with). You see, love is verb, and action that you choose to take or you choose not to take. We chose to love in spite of our feelings. Through the years, God has chosen to bless and honor our choice to stick it out and make things work and we have been head over heels in love almost from the moment we made that life changing decision. I wouldnt change a single thing about the past 23 years. I embrace every tear, smile, hug, laugh, disappointment, argument, tough and happy time. It has all been worth it because it has brought us closer and made our marriage stronger than anything I could have ever imagined. God has truly taken our mistakes and bad decisions and made them beautiful. Thank you for all the years that you have loved me even when you didnt feel it and supported me even when I didnt deserve it. You are my lobster, Don and I want you to know that my life is only complete with you in it. HAPPY 23RD ANNIVERSARY! I LOVE YOU.
