The Chairman, Governing Council Kwara State Polytechnic, Professor Sheu Jimoh, who made this statement during a press briefing held at the school premises, said accuracy must be the basis of any report. Jimoh noted that factual stories are very hard to come by but journalists must do everything possible to give report that will not confuse audience. According to him, people tend to believe reporters as there are subjective and objective errors, and no standard way of determining whether a report is factual or not. Royal Times correspondent who was at the event reports that the Don cited the case of a Kwara Poly student who was accidentally shot in the leg the by a police officer, and was mistakenly reported dead by some media houses. He explained that the student is responding to treatment at the University Teaching Hospital.
