Donald Lee Mason 3 hrs · Its Sunday -- The special day of the week to worship Him. Im thankful we can worship together today even though it is in a hospital room. Margie is sitting up, fully clothed!!!, and catching a nap right now. It appears that the healing process is continuing although she is still weak as a kitten (her words). The delicate balance of getting rid of the fluid build up, along with keeping the sodium level up and increasing, while completing the healing of her incisions is the ongoing challenge. Her real battle now is the fierce headaches resulting from her shingles. They just about wipe her out. About every 3 or 4 hours the headache hits with such force that she moans and shakes. So hard to watch and do nothing but hold her hand. She is brave, but pain pills can only do so much. Continue to remember her in prayer. One memory continues to stir my heart--some will remember that I had a serious car accident in Indiana on my way home from the Christian World Action Conference at Roberts Wesleyan thanksgiving week, 1959. I ended up in the Fort Wayne Hospital with a broken jaw, broken leg, and bruised sternum(before safety features such as seat belts and safety bags). The second day I was there a lovely young lady appeared at the end of my bed and became my special nurse for several days. Among other things she provided mouth wash for me after every meal. How great that felt when you have your jaws wired shut. Here we are some 55 years later with our 53rd wedding anniversary two days away, and guess what I did to help Margie this morning--gave her some mouthwash. Its all good. My leg is killing me today and swollen but will do therapy later today. 3 hrs · Like Calvin Hawkins Don, your mouthwash story brought to mind one that I recently experienced.
