Donnie A. English, 75 of Calvert City, Kentucky died on Monday, May 26, 2014, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. Mr. English was retired from the Boilermakers Local 40 out of Elizabethtown, KY. He honorably served his country in the US Airforce and was a member of many organizations, including: the IBEW 816, National Rifleman Association, Woodmen of the World Fraternity, and the Eagles Clubs in Paducah, Mayfield, and Calvert City, KY. Born Friday, February 24, 1939 in Marshall Co., Kentucky, he was the son of the late Brady Lee English and the late Stella Rae (Egner) English. Surviving are his wife: Dorothy Louise (McGregor) English of Paducah, KY; son, Faron Daniel English of Hickory, KY; daughters, Sherry Elaine Lindsey of Boaz, KY and Donna Marisa Lester of Boaz, KY; brothers, Darrell Lynn English of Boaz, KY, Charles Leslie English of Marion, KY and David Glen English of Tifton, GA; sister, Dolores Ann Stanley of Evansville, IN; 7 grand children; and 10 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Mark Burnett officiating. Interment will follow in Hamlet Cemetery, Benton, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Collier Funeral Home.
