Dont allow break up of Nigeria - Gov Ahmed ilorin.info/fullnews.php?id=10887 Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State yesterday in Ilorin appealed to Nigerians to be patriotic and avoid being used by any individual to break up the country based on selfish ambition. Nigeria, according to the governor is bigger than anyone, saying that no one should be allowed to break the country for no reason. Governor Ahmed while addressing members of the National Butchers Union of Nigeria who paid him visit in his lodge at the Government House, Ilorin decried the countrys political system that is being fragmented along ethno-religion line, stressing the need for the citizenry to break the practice. Meanwhile, the governor advised all groups and associations to be part of decision-making in order to make the country bearable for all. The governor who urged the associations to make their voices heard and make themselves relevant in the scheme of things, stressed that there was no point designing policies affecting them without their inputs. He advised them to rise from their slumber and contribute positively to national issues with a view to making the country better for all. The governor also advocated the tenet of justice and equity in governance in order to end the persistence youths restiveness and other security challenges all over the country. He maintained governance should be premised on the tenets of equity, justice as well as wealth distribution in order to enhance shared prosperity. Governor Ahmed, however called for the construction of standard automated animal slaughtering slab as well as improved system of preservation in the country in order to guide against environmental hazard. He also decried unhealthy environment where meats were being processed, and stressed the need for the standardization of abattoirs across the country. The governor spoke of his governments developmental projects aimed at encouraging associations and groups for a robust economy. The President of the Union, Chief John Adun in his remarks praised the present administration for its developmental projects aimed at advancing the state. He appealed to the government to construct world class abattoirs across the state with a view to preventing environmental hazards.
