Dont be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewlry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 1 Peter 3:3-4 Lets break the cycle. Our children of this world need to understand the love of God and the strength of His wisdom. Let us comfort our children with His word and save them the pain that trying to keep up with the world will bring into their hearts. We all fall into the comparison trap from time to time. Let us turn ourselves and our children to His word to strengthen us when we fall short. It was Jesus who taught us not to place our treasure in physical things like our bodies or worry about what clothes to wear. He promises to provide for us. This verse has so much power in my life. It allows me to shift my focus and pray to be dressed with the fruit of the Holy Spirit rather then the temporary, meaningless things of the world. Thank you Jesus for shifting our focus to our inner beauty today. Thank you for filling our hearts and dressing our spirits in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control allowing our inner beauty to shine past anything we could put on our physical bodies. Amen
