Dont do watercolors on cheap paper. Dont use fugitive inks. Dont put your brush in your mouth - or smoke. Dont think its going to get easier. Dont lock yourself into anything. Dont try to sell your work right away. Dont sweat the small stuff; go for the big picture. Dont worry when somebody says your work is not so hot. Dont worry when somebody says your work is great. Dont take yourself too seriously. Dont be afraid to do something over and over. Dont listen too much to perceived authority. Dont be afraid to listen to your own intelligence. Dont try to please anybody except yourself. Dont be either too vain or too modest. Dont talk about what youre going to do. Dont be afraid to look at other peoples stuff. Dont think youre an undiscovered genius. Dont use the words dont, cant, wont, and shouldnt. Dont give up. //Robert Gwenn
