Dont have someone in the bed who is at risk of rolling onto your baby, and not realising it, follow all co-sleeping guidelines, if you do intend to co-sleep, which is not a mandatory form of mothering/fathering. I have had my 1st child co-sleep for at leas the 1st two years in our bed, and it worked well for her. telegraph.co.uk/health/children_shealth/8854674/Babies-should-sleep-in-mothers-bed-until-age-three.html
