Dont know if you had or have PPI on a loan, Mortgage or credit card, dont have the documents anymore?? Dont be sucked into believing, claims management companies wave a magic wand and suddenly find out that you have / have not and / or suddenly appear with the documents. Again they do exactly what you can do. Its called a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR). It costs £10 (cheque) and even they have to pay the fee. Just tell the loan company, bank, credit card provider, mortgage lender that you want all the information they have on you. The companies have approximately 45days to respknd to you.....or they are in breach of the Data Protection Act.
