Dont let a little (potential) rain scare you...leave that to us at Raymore Parks and Recreations eighth annual Harvest Night event on Friday night in Recreation Park. Between 6 and 9 p.m., your little ghosts and goblins will enjoy pumpkin decorating, face painting, s’mores and cocoa by the fire, and a pumpkin derby racetrack. Once darkness falls with the full moon overhead, guests are invited to board the haywagons for the evening’s main attraction: haunted hayrides. With a whole park full of things that go bump in the night, guests are in for a scare-riffic good time as they encounter ghastly ghouls and otherworldly creatures along the hayride route. For those more adventurous souls, a second haunted attraction will be available, weather permitting, via a darkness-wrapped walking trail littered with even more horrific frights. Designed to amp-up the scares by pitting guests closer to the supernatural specters, those who choose to brave the blackened trail on foot will walk amongst an assortment of menacing creatures of the night. Admission to this spooky, fun-filled fall evening is only $5 per person, and guests are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and sturdy walking shoes to the event. Children ages 3 and under are free. This event is again sponsored by Mazuma Credit Union. For more information on this spooktacular special event, call the Raymore Parks and Recreation office at 816-322-2791 or visit raymore/harvestnight.
