(Dont read these if you arent up for icky racism, Chinese specific. They made me feel terrible and I dont want anyone else to catch that by surprise too.) These are responses to a Facebook post about dogs being killed for leather (and possibly meat) in China. These types of comments seemed to make up 2 out of 10 of the comments. 7 of the other 10 were simply sick or disgusting. There was no mention of the treatment of the dogs or general abuse. Only that they are killed for human consumer goods, just like millions of animals in North America. Im always bothered by the hypocrisy of loving one species and turning a blind eye to the cruelty suffered by other sentient, social, loving animals. Im pretty enraged when it is used as an excuse for vile racism (or even just snide remarks about other people eating dogs and rats or anything other than the animals weve deemed acceptable).
