Dont want to spark a debate, and if I do, well,...OK. Ive had dogs constantly my whole life. Ive bred, raised, rescued, rehomed all types. Ive never PERSONALLY owned a pitt, or worked with one. But I will say this. I still believe despite all the incidents of attack and aggressiveness we hear that there are no bad dogs. There are bad, ignorant, irresponsible, selfish PEOPLE. People who use an animal whose flaw is that its so devoted that it will literally fight to the death at their command. People who rescue a dog that they know NOTHING about its history or past treatment and let it run loose or worse leave it with a helpless child. And even people who own facilities, like Kennels, and put these dogs with other dogs who would never have a chance if that fighter instinct that a PERSON cultivated in that dog kicked off. I honestly believe that it the vast majority of vicious dog reports that if someone else had gotten them as a PUPPY their outcome would have been totally different. Hmmm...sounds kind of like how we raise our own children, doesnt it?
