Don’t get caught cold by car thieves this winter – make sure you keep your vehicle secure when de-icing it on your driveway or on the street. Road Policing Sergeant John Jennings-Wharton said: “Every year motorists get caught out by leaving their vehicles unattended or insecure and opportunist thieves are on the lookout for an easy steal. “Be extra vigilant as you warm-up your car and remember that many insurance companies don’t pay out for thefts of this nature. “You could also be committing an offence yourself if you leave a car with the engine running unattended on a public road.” Stay safe this winter and please report anything suspicious to us on 101
