Don’t surround yourself with people who will only talk about your challenges without doing a thing to solve it; don’t listen to those who will give you depressing analysis of your issues without pointing out the way forward. Don’t listen to those who can only give you a pity party, with no strategy for solutions. If their words make your challenges weightier, keep them away from your relationship circle. If they speak about your issues in a manner that ridicules you, without proffering solutions, you don’t need them. If they defeat and depress you with their questions, don’t give them the privilege of getting answers from you. If they ask after you only to keep themselves informed about your struggles, with no plans to help, do yourself a favour: disconnect from them. Surround yourself with solutions bearers who are willing to think creatively; surround yourself with people who speak words of faith into you and increase your confidence; surround yourself with optimists, not pessimists. A pity party won’t change a pitiable condition; it’s better to fight your battles and have the option of winning or losing, than to be defeated solely by the unfruitful words and unproductive analysis of mere mortals. bhiim bhiim
