Door knocking stories from Taihape today: 1) Comment to some women on my team, from a man... Shes a woman, then. She cant do that. The candidate should be a man. 2) A farming friend who I first met at Gumboot Day, back in March, came by our street corner meeting to say that he wasnt ever going to vote for me or my party, but he thought I was doing a great job and it was great to see me out there working so hard and being seen in the electorate. 3) And an NZF voter who was somewhat taken aback when I responded to his comment that there should be one law for all NZers, by asking if it would be okay with him if the one law was in fact, Maori law. You win some, you lose some... As ever, people in Taihape were very warm and welcoming, even those who disagreed with us. A great day on the campaign trail.
