Dorothy Ann McGhee...I remember when It was September of 2001. I was a new kid on the block playing with friends and you walked up to us and said, Hey guys! Im going to church Sunday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago. You all come with me! From that point on is where our relationship began. Its because of you that I found my church home and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. It was you that gave me the resources to get one of my very first paid jobs as a youth leader for the City of Chicago. Weve talked numerous times about life and how you always expected excellence. I value the socially responsible leadership you possessed and it was very much so infectious in my experience through academia and society. Weve shared so many memories together and it is very unreal to me that we can not have anymore to create, because there was a contributing factor that lead to your sudden passing. What I do know is that you loved God and believed whole heartedly that you are a child of his. It gives me enough strength and understanding to accept Gods plan for us and release you back to him. I thank God for placing you in my life, because you were definitely a mother figure and gave me so much hope for the future. I will miss you and although we cannot create more memories I still have those precious memories to get me through this hard time. Rest well Ms. McGhee and I will forsure see you again some day.
