Doug, lets look at it with the roles reversed. Lets say its 1949 and there is a non-Muslim country with a Muslim minority who wants to steal land of the non-Muslims and break it away to have as their own country. The Muslims declare that 40% of the non-Muslim country is now for Muslims ONLY -- and all non-Muslims are slaughtered. The new Muslim state is now ethnically cleansed. Over the next half century, the Muslim state starts wars with the remaining part of the country that is still non-Muslim. --- Yet no one criticizes the new Muslim country. This actually happened -- in India/Pakistan. ... There have been similar population transfers involving violence and stolen land between Muslims and non-Muslims in Turkey/Greece, Turkey/Armenia, Amazighia (Berber land)/Morocco, and many others. There is no outcry about those population transfers and ethnic cleansings -- even though those others were exponentially greater in scale. What is keeping the Israel/Arab issue on the front burner is petro-dollars.
