Warning: the following status is nerdy in two completely different aspects. Non-nerds should take precautions when reading this status. I was doing some thinking, and Game of Thrones/A Song of Fire and Ice crossed my mind. In their world, family names are sometimes referred to as House X - House Lannister, House Stark, House Baratheon, etc. Then my thinking switched lanes and jumped to Star Trek, specifically the Klingon Empire. Their family names are also referred to as House - the House of Martok, House of Duras, House of Mogh, etc. I thought to myself, how would GoT/aSFaI and Star Trek compare. Thus this post: The House of Kmpec - House Baratheon. He served as the longest chancellor of the Klingon Empire before his death started a power struggle between the other Great Houses. This makes the House of Martok - House Lannister, since they assume the throne since technically Joffrey is genetically a Lannister, not a Baratheon (in between there was Gowron but were ignoring him for this analogy) This makes the House of Duras - House Targaryen. Despised by the Baratheons/Kmpec (Robbert tried to kill Daenerys simply for being a Targaryen/Kmpec covered up Duras involvement with the Khitomer massacre to keep the peace, but he disliked the House of Duras as a result) and no longer in power (Worf eventually revealed the truth, causing the House of Duras to be discommoded/the Targaryens overthrown by Roberts revolt) and continually seeking to regain their power (Viserys and then later Daenerys).
