Douglas County Government News and Events Lime Gulch Fire PRE-EVACUATION near Night Hawk Hill and Platte River South The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a pre-evacuation order in the area near Night Hawk Hill or Pine Creek Road to the South and South Platte River because of the Lime Gulch Fire. A pre-evacuation notice means you should prepare critical items to take with you in case you are actually told to leave the area. Those items might include money, credit cards, medications, cell phones and chargers. Please monitor local news channels for fire updates. If the fire comes dangerously close to your area, an evacuation order will be sent. However, residents must maintain situational awareness. If you are in danger, DO NOT WAIT for an evacuation order. Take the initiative to leave immediately if local conditions warrant such action. Please refrain from calling 9-1-1 unless you have an actual emergency.
